Multi-Hazard Climate Risk: Linking Multivariate Hazard Interactions to a Compound Perspective Across Global-to-Local Scales
Abtract
Extreme climate events and the associated risks are often shaped by complex interdependencies and overlapping hazard components. The dynamics of these hydroclimatic interactions play a critical role in determining hazard behavior and frequently show shifting patterns under climate uncertainty. This talk explores such multi-hazard interactions, examining their manifestations from local to global scales across diverse water-driven catastrophes. It further discusses their predictability and implications for advancing scientific understanding and informing climate adaptation strategies.
